A Place of Refuge

The Elgin Street Mission is a place of refuge for those who need hope, encouragement, nourishment to their bodies and also to their souls. We are here to feed and clothe those who have nowhere else to go and we are no respecter of persons, if your hungry we feed you, if your cold we clothe you, if your needing to talk we listen without prejudices, and also we do have standards in place to provide a safe environment to all who enter our organization.

25 Years of Service

We have been serving in greater Sudbury for over 25 years now, it all began in 1989 with just providing toast and coffee, to now providing breakfast and supper 7 days a week, with showers, baths, laundry and clothing services at no cost to the patrons. We're also on call overnight during the winter months as an emergency warming station from November 1st to March 31st. Where when the weather is 15 below or with a wind chill of minus 20 we open for the next 24 hours and the city helps to  cover some cost to stay open. Wow! What a privilege it is to be part of a mission work that is still growing and going strong, and we owe it all to you, the community of greater Sudbury and area for supporting the Elgin St  Mission with your generosity to help us help those who are having trouble helping themselves, and also to all our volunteers who make it possible to operate and function so smoothly. Thank you Sudbury, for making this mission possible, to feed and clothe those less fortunate.

Blessings to all!!!!!!!
